cooper dot se.

this page is called cooper.se because it represents much of my thought since studying for a semester in sweden in the spring of 2005. this thought process has continued on down to the beginnings of my real adult life....what comes next? let's talk about it....and many other things of course.

yikes!

It has taken me far too long to get back on here and post. I apologize to anyone (probably no one) who has been checking back in anticipation. I most assuredly have an explanation for why it has taken me so long to get back here.

My sister Kelly was married on Saturday, August 5, 2006. It was a really fun and special day. There was a lot of planning leading up to it and lots of cleanup and take down and all that. It was a really great day, but it is nice that it is over because the summer ended also and everyone is moving onto the next thing. Kelly and Greg moved to Georgia so Greg can get a Master's degree in Classical Languages!

As for me, I have moved back to Chicago after a hot and wonderful summer at home in Arizona. I will most likely be signing a lease on a classic huuuuuge Chicago apartment tomorrow and am in that insane transition mode where I don't yet have a job and have just graduated from school and am debating how high to aim as I search for a job.

I know I should aim high, but I also need to start earning some money. Perhaps I will stop over with an hourly job like being a server at Tre Kronor, Chicago and North Park's own Swedish restaurant.

This entry is not that insightful, but I have had so much on my mind and life hasn't felt totally normal since the summer, and even then there was always wedding stuff going on. It hopefully will soon and I will finally have a job and can start making a life. Here's hoping I live a significant one and don't fall so easily into a meaningless existence. It happens.

Farewell for now friends.

    Hi Cooper,
Thanks for leaving yr comment on my blog. The least I COULD DO IN RETURN IS LEAVE SOME COMMENTS ON YOUR EALIER POSTS. I notice that you start of by calling yourself confused, something also that Konfused kid CALLS himself, like u he is a libra. i think i will be giving away a state secret if i admit that i too am a libra (NB not a piece of information u will find on my blog). Not that i am particularly an astrology nut, just that there are certain libran charteristics, that u can talk about, as u might about national character. Does this statement about one libran characterstic sound familiar: "the moment you start making a statement abou something generalout there, you become aware that this already contains within itself some mesure of contradiction." Somebody then comes up and shouts you r wrong because......' and u answer 'i agree with you because....' and does it not drive them absolutely bonkers. Often Librans have the capacitry of seeing both sides of the argument, often at the same time together, often in sequence, and it comfuses everyone else and us as well.

    Hi again Cooper,
You end your profile by saying tell me an 'interesting story'. Well I think you yourself have an intersting story to tell. I, for one, am fascinated by the fact that you have been to Svenland and speak Svensk. Did you learn it at school ? (if so was it difficult) Or is your Mother from Sweden or of Swedish descent? (If so is there a Swedish speaking comunity in Michigan, where you can go t to keep up your Sweedish when in the U.S.A. ?)You say you would quite like to be a jounalist. Not all journalism is about reporting world events, some of it is about personal experiences. Now for example some journalist who might have sent some time in Sweeden and then returned to the U.S.A. might want to write something like: 'When I was in Sweden, I noticed that the Sweedish attitude towards eating out/social services/Islam/whatever was very different/quite similar/whatever, and to show this I will give you these fasinating personal experiences/observations of Sweedish tv/whatever. And people both from the USA AND Sweeden and other parts of the world will be fascinated by all this. Well you are not a payed jornalist (YET) BUT YOU COULD CERTAINLY DO SOMETHING ON THOSE LINES IN THIS BLOG.

    Hi a third time Cooper,
I myself would be happy to tell you a story, if you could help me out, because part of the story would be a link. Now you obviously know a bit about computers. I,personally, would describe myself, not so much as a computer nerd, but as an utter computer dweeb, i.e. someone without a clue about anything, including link making. Now I phoned up a friend and he suggested I do this:

    go to web site

    blueline adress bar contents

right click and choose 'copy' option

Then go to new site and press simultaniously ctrl and letter v

Unfortunately all that does is copy the contents of the adress bar without actually providing a link.

How do you do it ?

    peace-lover

    Cooper,
Good luck in Chicago. By the way. If you have time, you might, take a drive to Wilmette. There is a special place I visited 2x while I was living in the US, and it has a lot of spiritual power, as far as places go. Not that old really, but its connected to places elsewhere on the earth, one in each continent. The one in Wilmette is the 2nd. Sorry, the one in Europe is in Germany not Sweden ;-)

BY THE WAY, I was a journalist a long time ago...another life time, it feels. Didn't work so long though. Been a teacher for much much longer. Catch you later.
